BLAST.tv Austin Major Champions Update
View original post on SteamOverview
The BLAST. tv Austin Major Champions update is a celebration-focused patch dropping in the wake of Team Vitality's dramatic comeback victory over The MongolZ at the Moody Center in Austin, Texas.
Vitality dropped the opening map badly — 5-13 on the first — before absolutely dismantling their opponents on Dust II and Inferno to clinch their second Major Championship title. The update is light on gameplay substance but heavy on collectible content, making it primarily relevant to traders, collectors, and esports memorabilia enthusiasts.
The headline additions are the Major Champions Capsule and, notably, the debut of Souvenir Charms — a brand new collectible format for CS2. Rounding things out is a reminder that Premier Season Two wraps up July 14th, so competitive players need to get their wins in fast.

New Skins & Collections
There are no new weapon skins or cases in this update — if you came here looking for a fresh knife or glove drop, this isn't that patch. What you do get is the Team Vitality Major Champions Capsule, containing autograph stickers in four tiers: Paper, Foil, Holo, and Gold, each signed by a member of the championship roster.
Gold stickers are the crown jewel here as always — historically, Major Champion Gold autographs from winning rosters appreciate meaningfully over time, especially for star players. The real novelty this update is Souvenir Charms, introduced for the first time in CS2.
These charms are bundled with Playoff Stage Souvenir packages and contain a highlight moment from the match in question, adding a narrative, memory-driven layer to souvenir collecting that didn't exist before. Whether Souvenir Charms become a beloved collectible format or a forgotten gimmick depends entirely on community adoption, but as a first-edition item class, early examples could carry a scarcity premium down the line.
Paper stickers are essentially filler for most collectors but serve as affordable entry points for fans of specific players.
Gameplay & System Changes
This update contains no gameplay changes, no map updates, no anti-cheat patches, and no UI overhauls — it is purely a celebratory content drop tied to the Major result. The only time-sensitive mechanic to flag is the Premier Season Two deadline: you need at least 25 Season Two wins and a publicly visible CSR rating by July 14th to lock in your Season Two Medal.
If you're sitting at 24 wins or have a hidden rating, now is the time to act. The introduction of Souvenir Charms as a format is technically a new game system, and while it doesn't affect how CS2 plays, it does change how souvenir items are structured going forward — each Playoff Stage Souvenir package now carries an additional charm component tied to a specific match highlight, adding depth to the souvenir ecosystem.
Market Impact — Trader's Take
For traders, the immediate play is on Team Vitality player autograph stickers — particularly Gold tier. Vitality just won their second Major, and demand for champion stickers spikes hard in the days following a Major victory before gradually cooling.
If you're looking to flip, the window is short — typically 48 to 72 hours post-announcement sees peak hype pricing. Hold if you believe in the long-term legacy of this roster; sell into the excitement if you want quick returns.
Souvenir Charms are the wildcard here. As a brand-new item class with zero price history, the market will be volatile and largely speculative in the short term.
First-edition anything in CS2 tends to carry a collector's premium, so snagging Playoff Stage Souvenirs from this Major — which now include these charms — could prove smart if the format sticks. Existing souvenir packages from previous Majors are unaffected in rarity but may see a slight uptick in interest as the community re-engages with the souvenir ecosystem.
The Premier Season Two Medal is non-tradable in the traditional sense but drives player engagement, which indirectly keeps the broader market active heading into Season Three.

Over four days, the Moody Center in Austin, Texas hosted Team Vitality's coronation as the best Counter-Strike team on the planet.
Facing The MongolZ in the Grand Finals, Team Vitality lost the opening map 13:5, then stormed back on the next two, winning 13:4 on Dust II and 13:6 on Inferno to win the BLAST.tv Austin Major and the organization's second Major Championship.
