CS2 Float to Condition Calculator

Every CS2 skin has a float value between 0.00 (perfect condition) and 1.00 (heavily worn). Enter a float below to see its wear condition.

Wear condition thresholds

Valve maps every float value to one of five fixed wear conditions:

  • Factory New (FN) β€” 0.00 to 0.07
  • Minimal Wear (MW) β€” 0.07 to 0.15
  • Field-Tested (FT) β€” 0.15 to 0.38
  • Well-Worn (WW) β€” 0.38 to 0.45
  • Battle-Scarred (BS) β€” 0.45 to 1.00

Not every skin uses the full 0.00–1.00 range. Many paintkits restrict their wear range (for example, AK-47 | Case Hardened floats 0.00–0.70). This means some skins can never be Battle-Scarred, and others are rare in Factory New. Check the wear range on each item page to see what's possible for that specific paintkit.

Why float matters

Lower floats look cleaner and command higher prices. The boundaries between conditions (e.g. 0.07 exactly) are price cliffs β€” a 0.069 Factory New can cost multiple times what a 0.071 Minimal Wear sells for, even though they look nearly identical.

Float extremes

The lowest possible float on any skin (< 0.001) and the highest wear floats (> 0.99) are collectors' items that trade at big premiums over the baseline condition price. Pattern index matters too for certain paintkits β€” see the paintkit families page for more.
